Atlanta, GA – After a successful day of voter engagement in Macon, the “Freedom Is At Stake” GOTV Bus Tour is continuing its journey in Georgia, making its way to the Atlanta area to connect with young voters and Black communities in neighborhoods outside the metro region. Partnering with organizations like Mobilize Justice, SEIU, AFT, NAACP, NextGen America, Push Black, and Voto Latino, the coalition is committed to engaging voters through dynamic, high-energy events that combine music, food, and impactful outreach efforts designed to boost early voting.
In a special collaboration with Mobilize Justice, the coalition will focus on engaging local communities directly in their neighborhoods in partnership with hip hop artists and celebrities. This partnership will bring the voices of cultural figures directly to canvassing efforts, in hopes to create authentic moments of direct voter turnout. The coalition’s strategy includes reaching voters in places that are often overlooked by traditional campaigns, amplifying the issues that matter most, such as economic security, reproductive justice, and protecting democratic rights.
These community-focused efforts are designed not only to mobilize voters but to foster a sense of unity and empowerment leading up to Election Day.
“Georgia’s importance in this election cannot be overstated,” said AFT Secretary-Treasurer Fedrick Ingram. “Partnering with the Freedom Is At Stake coalition allows us to connect with voters in a powerful way. As we visit these communities, we’re reminding everyone—especially young Black voters—how critical it is that their voices are heard. The stakes are high for our rights, economic opportunities, and the future of our democracy, so it’s essential that we come together, engage, and vote.”
“In Georgia, Black voters and young people have the power to determine the future direction of our nation,” said Andi Pringle, Founder and CEO of Registration Nation Action Fund. “At every stop on this tour, when we connect the urgency of this election to the real issues impacting our communities, we see voters feel motivated to show up and be counted. This is about having a voice at the table and securing our rights and freedoms.”
“In every key battleground state, voter turnout is going to make all the difference,” said Quentin James, Founder and President of The CollectivePAC. “We’re focused on reaching voters in every critical state, and Georgia is no different. The turnout of Black voters, young people, and communities of color will shape the outcome of this country. This tour reminds voters that their voice is crucial to our nation’s future.”
“Working people are going to be the deciding factor in this election,” said April Verrett, SEIU President. “We want thriving communities, good union jobs, clean water, safe schools, affordable housing, and accessible care. Across the country, workers are turning out, voting for us—because when we vote for us, we win.”
“NextGen America has been empowering young people for over a decade to make their voices heard in elections,” said Harry Johnson, VP of Strategic Partnerships for NextGen America. “With less than a month to go until Election Day, we’re making sure young voters in Georgia and beyond have everything they need to help create a government that represents them and reflects their values.”
